Hi, I’m Ziko J. Wilson – the cook, writer, and photographer behind Zikorecipes.
I live in New York, USA, and I believe in Next-Gen Cooking, Timeless Flavors: modern, easier methods with the same classic taste.

On this site, you’ll find simple, tested recipes with step-by-step instructions and everyday ingredients. Many recipes include quick swaps, lighter options, or high-protein twists so you can cook great food even on a busy day.

What you can expect

My story

I started cooking to solve everyday problems – not enough time, different diets in the same home, and a strong love for big flavor. Living in New York means being surrounded by food from everywhere. I test recipes until they’re clear, repeatable, and practical, then share them with you.

“Next-gen cooking” for me means smarter steps and approachable techniques (sheet-pan, one-pot, air-fryer or griddle, easy meal-prep), while “timeless flavors” means the result still tastes like the food you grew up loving.

How I keep quality high

  • How I keep quality high
  • I test each recipe and update notes when readers ask questions.
  • I give exact measurements, cook temps, times, and simple swaps.
  • I shoot my own photos in my NYC kitchen.
  • If something isn’t clear, I fix it and improve the post.

If a recipe doesn’t work the first time in my tests, I fix it before it reaches you.
